On April 1st, 2014, Paul, Nathanael and I embarked on the West Highland Way. After months of ‘preparation’ mostly spent in the cinema or reviewing movies, we set off from Milngavie on a walk that would take us six days to complete, and cover ninety-six miles.
Day 1: Milngavie to Balmaha (20 miles)
Day 2: Balmaha to Inversnaid (14 miles)
Day 3: Inversnaid to Tyndrum (19 miles)
Day 4: Tyndrum to Kingshouse* (20 miles)
Day 5: Kingshouse to Kinlochleven (9 miles)
Day 6: Kinlochleven to Fort William (14 miles)
Where one Long Distance Footpath ends, however, another begins: The Great Glen Way connects Fort William with Inverness, though we should probably let our blisters heal before thinking about our next big adventure.
*Prior to departing on the next leg of our journey, we repeated the Tyndrum to Kingshouse section (in reverse) so that Paul might say that he completed it, too.
